We would like to thank LakeNorman.com for providing this website to our club.
What We Do:
o Act as an organized voice on issues of importance to Lake Norman water skiers and wakeboarders with the Lake Norman Marine Commission.
o Promote FUN and Safety, including: formal Learn-2-Ski Clinics, Safety Clinics, Driver Clinics, & CPR training!
o Relieve skiers the expense and maintenance of privately owned slalom courses and jumps on Lake Norman.
o Allow skiers access to multiple slalom courses on Lake Norman.
(The Lake Norman Marine Commission does not permit individually owned slalom courses.)
o Support of USA Waterski and the North Carolina Ski Federation through club dues.
Ski Club Membership Benefits Include:
o Learn to Ski and Learn to Wakeboard days. We love to Coach and pass on tricks and tips. You don't need to have an inboard ski boat or fancy equipment to be a member, just a desire to learn while getting wet! We have clinic dates already being scheduled for the season (register on-line to get signed up!!). We will also be holding learn to ski days for members wanting to get up on the water for their first time!
o Weekly scheduled practice sessions with other members to learn new tricks and techniques.
o Access to Club Coaching and area Pro Riders on a scheduled basis. (Get involved and we can help you team up with others looking for the same time slots & level of training/practice.)
o Club events including Ski-a-thons, learn to ski and wakeboard days and my favorite.. the Club BBQs!!
o Usage of the ski clubs easily accessible slalom courses. (courses are located on both the North and South ends of Lake Norman.) Club members would love to assist you with your technique and practice routines. We can assist you to successfully ski the slalom course, build on your free ski techniques, or get to tournament rope lengths. All members will have access to and be trained to use our submerged accu-sink slalom courses on Lake Norman.
o Tournaments!!! The Ski Club will again be hosting tournaments this season! We're currently scheduling events at a private ski lake in NC. This will be a great chance to get on a world class tournament ski lake and be coached one on one to help you tune your techniques... or to just get some pics of you on this wonderful lake! Call to get signed up for your division (Novice, Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced). Novice is for anyone that hasn't completed the slalom course (all the red buoys). These events are a great way to synch up with others in your skill level. The club has a lot of members that can't make all six buoys, so don't be shy.. we all started one buoy at a time.
o Access to our submerged slalom ski courses on Lake Norman.
o Membership discounts at select Lake Norman area retailers and proshops:

Learn to Ski or Wakeboard for just $20
We have taught over 300 students to ski and wakeboard using USA Water Ski certified instructors and methods in our clinics. The majority of our students get up the first time they're in the water! This is a chance to learn in a fun, safe & pressure free environment. We host these clinics to help promote safe skiing and wakeboarding in the area.
