Event Details You Are the Power to End Stroke Date: 4/12/2008 Time: 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm Location: 739 Lark Glen Dr. Mooresville (former Kings Creek Apartments) (View Map) Description: South Iredell Senior Center's Stroke Support Group, led by Bob Guns, will hold a "You Are the Power to End Stroke" awareness program on Sat., April 12 from 12- 3 p.m. at the Meadowlark Community Center. This program is specifically being targeted to African Americans because they are 1.5 times more likely to die from heart disease and 1.8 times more likely to have a fatal stroke than white. Representatives of the American Heart and Stroke Association will be on hand to make you aware of the risk and indicators of a stroke, and to tell you what you can do to prevent a stroke or reduce the likelihood of having a stroke.
