Last year we had a terrific book of coupons, called City Pass. I highly recommend the City Pass, especially if you are new to the area, newly dating, or new in desire to familiarize yourself with Charlotte! So we were in Charlotte for a recurring appointment when we noticed the Mama Ricotta's that was also in our book. We decided to give it a try, completely unaware of the fantastic reputation locals have awarded the restaurant with.
We were hungry and ready to eat; Imagine our delight when we entered and smelled the fresh Italian herbs, the mouth watering sauces! Unfortunately we the wait would have been 2 hours, so that night we were forced to eat somewhere else. Now imagine our search for a place to eat, having just smelled the utopia of sensory contributions. We determined to return.

The next opportunity, we called ahead. We also chose lunch to avoid the popularity-crowd. Using our coupon from City Pass, we relished the amount of the bill as much as the savory entree selections we had opted for. For the next few months we told everyone they had to try Mama Ricotta's, no matter the drive. "But call ahead!" We warned.

Unfortunately we missed out on getting another copy of City Pass last fall. But when my Aunt and Uncle from Mint Hill wanted to meet for dinner, we immediately thought of Mama Ricotta's. We directed them to the location, and called ahead to make sure we would have a seat. At first, the hostess said they could not get us in for two hours! Then I said, "What if we come in the next few minutes, are you really that booked solid?" She said if we arrived in the next ten minutes they would probably be able to seat us, and she took our name.
The food again did not disappoint. We enjoyed fun, fellowship and fantastic food! And when it was time to pay the bill, my uncle whisked out his own City Pass coupon.
