Description: Learn to Live a Healthier Life, Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) is a workshop given once a week for six weeks for people with different chronic health problems. Classes are highly participative. Mutual support and success build participant confidence in their own ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. Subjects covered will include: dealing with frustration, fatigue, and pain, exercising for improving strength, flexibility and endurance, appropriate use of medications, how to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, nutrition, and how to evaluate treatments. Sponsored by the Centralina Area Agency on Aging, classes are FREE and will be held at the South Iredell Senior Center in the Lowrance Room of the Mooresville Citizens Center starting May 20, 2008. Classes will be every Tuesday for six weeks from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Participants will receive training materials and refreshments will be available. Space is limited so please sign up early.
