Classes are highly participative. Mutual support and success builds participant confidence in their own ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. Subjects covered will include: dealing with frustration, fatigue and pain, exercising for improving strength, flexibility and endurance, appropriate use of medications, how to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, nutrition and how to evaluate treatments. The class will meet every Wednesday 1:30-4 p.m. at the South Iredell Senior Center starting September 2 – October 7, 2009. Participants will receive training materials, refreshments and a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to O’Charley’s. Although classes are free, contributions to the Senior Center are appreciated.
