Event Details Medicare Part D Enrollment Date: 11/15/2009 until 12/31/2009 Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Location: South Iredell Senior Center, 202 N. Church St., Mooresville, NC (View Map) Description: November 15 – December 31 is the open enrollment period for Medicare Part D. If you need assistance enrolling or changing your plan for Medicare Part D Prescription Drug coverage, call 704-873-8568 and ask for Phyllis Deal, SHIIP Coordinator for the Iredell County’s Senior Insurance Information Program, a program under the N.C. Department of Insurance. Qualification and enrollment for the Medicare Part D Subsidy is also available (income based). A Hispanic speaking interpreter can be available upon request. Church St., Mooresville, NC (View Map) Description: Join SISC for this amazing holiday display of lights on Tuesday, December 8. We leave at 12:30 p.m. from the public parking lot on the corner on Iredell Ave. and Church St., directly in front of EMS in Mooresville. We first head to Hanes Mall for an afternoon of Christmas shopping. Dinner will be at the K&W Cafeteria on your own, followed by a bus tour through Tanglewood Park to marvel at the beautiful display of Christmas lights. Cost for the trip is $25 per person. Transportation will be on a 25 passenger bus. We should return to Mooresville by 9 p.m. You can register by mailing a check to South Iredell Senior Center 202. N. Church St., Mooresville, NC 28115. Please indicate what the check is for, your name and phone number and make sure space is still available prior to mailing your check. The Senior Center makes arrangements only and is not liable for delays, losses or any inconveniences associated with the trip. Any refund given is based on the ability to fill your space. Classes are approximately one hour long and open to all seniors age 60 or better with priority given to Iredell County residents. Information on guidelines and fees are available upon request. It is recommended that new participants observe their class of choice before registering. Private lessons are available for the disabled, visually or physically impaired. Church St., Mooresville, NC (View Map) Description: On Tuesday November 17 from 8:15-10 a.m. Captain Phil Blocker with the Mooresville Police Department will discuss current crime trends, personal safety at home and work. He will also talk about how to stay safe with the up-coming holidays. This is especially important for women as they do much of the shopping. The Mooresville Fire Department may also be on hand to review holiday safety tips. Everyone is invited! The program will be held in the Peddler room of the Citizen Center. Knowledge is power, don’t be a victim! The program is sponsored by the Mooresville South Iredell Chamber of Commerce.
