Event Details SISC - Learn to Live a Healthier Life Date: 5/21/2009 until 6/21/2009 Time: 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm Location: South Iredell Senior Center (View Map) Description: The Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP) is a workshop given once a week for six weeks for people with different chronic health problems. Classes are highly participative. Mutual support and success build participant confidence in their own ability to manage their health and maintain active and fulfilling lives. Subjects covered will include: dealing with frustration, fatigue, and pain, exercising for improving strength, flexibility and endurance, appropriate use of medications, how to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, nutrition, and how to evaluate treatments. Sponsored by the Centralina Area Agency on Aging, classes are FREE and will be held at the South Iredell Senior Center starting Thursday, May 7 – June 11, 2009. Classes will be every Thursday for six weeks from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Participants will receive training materials and refreshments will be provided. Space is limited so please sign up early.
