Description: The community is invited to usher in the holiday season as they view 300 nativity scenes from around the world, revel in the sounds of holiday music performed by local choirs, and dress in nativity costume to enact the Holy Night. Family activities include family photo, nativity scavenger hunt, and crafts to take home.
December 1 & 2 6-9 pm and December 3 10am-9pm.
Special Events include:
Seniors Cookie Social – December 1 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm
Home School Day – December 2 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm
Girl Scout Social – December 2 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm

Description: The deaf and hard of hearing can now receive services from the Division of Services for the Deaf and hard of Hearing at South Iredell Senior Center the 3rd Thursday of every month. Services include: Advocacy, information, counseling, skills development and tools for deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind and speech-impaired individuals and their families. Telecommunications access for all through relay services and assistive technology. Consultation and training is available for agencies, organizations and businesses such as law enforcement, hospitals, 911 call centers, churches and hotels – so that people with hearing loss may experience full access. Description: The Winter Market is held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month, January through March, 9 a.m. to noon. Farmers and producers sell a bounty of winter produce such as root vegetables, hearty greens, eggs, dried beans, pecans, pastured meats and cheeses, fish, honey, freshly baked breads, cakes, pies, jams, salsas, prepared dishes, dog treats and soaps. The Market returns to a weekly schedule beginning Saturday, April 7, 8 a.m. to noon.

Description: During our 2012 workshop series, Removing The Mask of Lupus, we will focus on connecting with the community to address health disparities among African Americans in our area who are disproportionately affected by lupus. In an effort to raise awareness among the African American community, the workshop series will include general lupus information and topics that are most relevant to the African American community. The series will feature quarterly workshops entitled: Understanding Lupus, Getting The Help You Need, Lupus & the Skin, and Lupus & the Kidneys. While this series focuses on the African American community, it is open to anyone with an interest in the presented topics.
This educational program is designed for newly diagnosed patients, family, caretakers, and anyone wanting to learn more about lupus. Come learn the facts including the signs, symptoms, diagnostic process, and treatments of lupus and hear the personal stories of those that are living with lupus.
